Using a variety of different creative expressions, this small group will allow teens and young adults a safe space to express and release their feelings into a healthy outlet. Utilizing creative expression can assist with general anxiety, social isolation, emotional management, social skills, and connection. Throughout these 8 weeks, we will work together in fun and exciting ways, using art as a method of exploration and self-discovery of personal experiences and emotional expression.

We will dive into deeper topics such as societal pressures and expectations, anxiety, and stress tolerance, healthy communication, etc. Together we will look at the impact social media has on teens and young adults in the way they view themselves and others. This resilience-focused group will incorporate Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT Tapping), and Matrix Reimprinting*.

Art therapy includes anything and everything from drawing, painting, sculpting, acting/role-play, writing, etc. Free flow art is a wonderful opportunity for teens and young adults to explore different techniques without the rigidity and structure of everyday life. There is no right or wrong way to be an artist nor are there any mistakes.

This group is for any teen or young adult who is wanting to dive deeper into discovering their true selves and learn how to manage life’s complexities while still having fun and socializing with other like-minded individuals.

Daniel Arteaga, a Licensed Family and Marriage Therapist, and Aspen Vallee, an Integrative Healing Practitioner, will be co-facilitating this group.
