Philosophy of Care
I enjoy working with families, couples, individuals and teens and also enjoy working with diverse populations with a wide range of issues. I help clients work towards more intentional living and connected relationships by finding inner peace in the midst of our busy and often stressful lives.
My therapeutic style is rooted in family systems theory, which means I take into consideration all aspects of a person’s life, including family of origin, occupation, health, resources, community, education, opportunities, as well as, mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. I use a person-centered approach and creates individualized plans according to client’s needs, issues, and goals. I often use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical-behavioral therapy (DBT) in session with clients and have experience in various settings in clinical counseling, residential treatment centers with adults and long- term inpatient care with children and adolescents.
